BORN OF FIRE: A Conversation with the Artists

Thank you to everyone who attended last night\’s Zoom panel discussion hosted by the Crow Museum of Asian Art in Dallas, Texas! The panel event accompanies the Crow Museum\’s current exhibition, BORN OF FIRE: Japanese Women Ceramic Artists, now on view through January 2022.

The panelists included 3 of the 14 exhibiting artists: Hayashi Kaku, Futamura Yoshimi, and Fujikasa Satoko, alongside collectors Carol and Jeffrey Horvitz, whose collection provided the artworks for this exhibition, and Joan Mirviss, whose New York gallery represents all 3 artists.

The discussion was moderated by Crow Senior Curator Jaccqueline Chao

Japanese language interpretation was expertly provided by Yoshizawa Tomo
